Living Spit presents Omlet
Doors will open 7.30pm. Event starts 8pm prompt.
Join us for the brand new musical event from Living Spit. "Omlet, Prince of Hen-mark" is a comedic, Shakespeare-inspired theatre show by Living Spit, featuring one actor, an egg, and a trolley of food in a pun-filled retelling of Hamlet.
"Omlet, Prince of Hen-mark" reimagines Shakespeare’s Hamlet with a whimsical twist: the protagonist is an egg named Omlet, brooding and fragile, navigating his own "Egg-sistential angst" alongside a supporting cast of vegetables and assorted foodstuffs. The production combines live original music, perishable puppetry, and clever wordplay, creating a humorous and inventive theatrical experience. Actor Stu McLoughlin performs the show solo, juggling multiple characters and props while maintaining Shakespearean themes with a comedic flair.
The show is a one-man comedy theatre performance that blends skillful soliloquising, small-scale suspense, and playful absurdity. It is described as a "sumptuous scramble" of Shakespearean silliness, with a strong emphasis on puns and visual humour. The production is suitable for audiences aged 12 and above and runs for 1 hour and 40 minutes, including an interval.
